Glühwein
It wouldn't be Christmas without Mulled Wine!
DCS Tutor Philippe has kindly shared his incredible Glühwein recipe, guaranteed to make your guests reminisce on past years in Christmas markets and ensure that holiday feeling from the moment they walk in the door!

To prepare the Glühwein
Place all the ingredients apart from the orange into a deep saucepot and bring to the boil. Immediately reduce to simmer for 5 minutes.
Strain the wine mixture through a fine chinois and return to the pot. Reheat and pour into individual mugs.
Serve very hot with a slice of orange. You can also add a small stick of cinnamon for a festive touch
Ingredients
- 1.5l red wine - something mid-priced and not too strong such as Merlot, Shiraz and Beaujolais
- 250g brown sugar
- Zest of 1 orange
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 20g ginger, julienned (very fine batons)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2 star anise
- 2 cloves
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 orange, finely sliced
